- FC BARCELONA END REGULAR SEASON 27-7 ALEX ABRINES 29 PT GAME BEFORE PLAYOFFS

1. FC BARCELONA 88 CAJASOL 70 - The Spanish ACB season regular ended, with European power FC Barcelona winning by 18 points over Cajasol, as 20 year old Spanish SG Alejandro (ALEX) Abrines, led the deep FC Barcelona squad in scoring with 29 points in 24 minutes, on 10-17 FG, making 8-10 from 3 point land, 1-2 FT and was followed by Polish Big-Man Maciej Lampe with 12 points 9 rebounds in the win. EUROJOHNBBALL has to laugh when hearing hosts and callers on Sports Radio, talking about how much NBA 2nd round Draft picks ARE A WASTE and talent is not there, when many players in Europe that were picked in the NBA 2nd round could help NBA teams, but have not come over due to most of them getting better money deals from European powers.   Alex Abrines is one of those European players chosen in the NBA second round, by the OKC Thunder in the 2013 NBA draft with the 32nd pick and EUROJOHNBBALL thinks the soon to be 21 year old SG, with a deadly 3 point stroke and athletic ability to take it to the hoop for dunks in traffic, could be the missing piece in the future to help the OKC Thunder and 2014 NBA MVP Kevin Durant get over the top and win an NBA title.  Abrines is a more explosive Marco Belinelli and also reminds of Rudy Fernandez and putting him on the court with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook would cause other teams headaches on what wing player to guard off the dribble.     Cajasol was led in scoring by potential 2014 NBA 1st round draft pick Latvian 18 year old, 7 foot PF Kristaps Porzingis with 14 points in 19 minutes, on 5-10 FG, 2-3(3PT), 2-2 FT.     FC Barcelona  and Abrines will play Laboral Kutxa in the ACB Quarterfinals, while Porzingis and Cajasol meet Valencia in the deep Spanish ACB playoff matchups.

1. OLYMPIACOS 89 PANATHINAIKOS 64 - After losing a defensive 59-56 battle in game one of the Greek finals, Olympiacos tied the series up 1-1, making 13-25 from deep 3 point land, compared to just the 4-12 by the Green squad. NBA 2nd round draft pick and Greek PF Georgios Printezis led Olympiacos with 18 points in 17 minutes, on 7-10 FG, 2-3(3PT), 2-2 FT, 6 rebounds and was followed by Greek PG Vassilis Spanoulis and American Center Bryant Dunston with 12 points apiece, while Greek SG Evangelos Mantzaris added 11 points, 6 assists and American SF Brent Petway added 10 points in the win.   Panathinaikos was led by Greek Center Loukas Mavrokefalidis with 19 points, on 7-17 FG, 5-6 FT and was followed by Greek PG Dimitris Diamantidis with 12 points.

-     DEFENDING CHAMPS PANATHINAIKOS UP 1-0 IN DEFENSIVE BATTLE OF GREEK POWERS

1. Panathinaikos 59 Olympiacos 56 - The Green squad win game one of the 2014 Greek A1 league finals beating rival Olympiacos by three points in a defensive battle of European league powers. The defending 2013 Greek champs did another great job of holding three time Euroleague champion and EL Final Four MVP, Vassilis Spanoulis in check, limiting the soon to be 32 year old Greek PG and the best player in the world that does not play in the NBA, to just 7 points, on 2-10 on FG's in the game, 1-6(3PT), 2-4 FT, 4 assists, but the game was won at the FT stripe, with the champs making 22-24, while Olympiacos made 5-13 in the game one loss. Lithuanian SF Jonas Maciulis led Panathinaikos with 15 points, on 6-11 FG, 0-5(3PT), 3-4 FT, 8 rebounds and was followed by American PF James Gist and Gabonese Center Stephane Lasme with 11 points apiece, while 34 year old Greek PG Dimitris Diamantidis added 9 points, 6 assists in the win.  Olympiacos was led by Greek SF Stratos Perperoglou with 15 points, on 6-13 FG, 3-7(3PT), 0-2 FT and was followed by American PF Bryant Dunston with 13 points, 6 rebounds, but for Olympiacos to have a shot to get the 2012 Greek A1 Finals glory back, it comes down to which Vassilis Spanoulis shows up, the Back to Back Euroleague champion Final Four MVP, or the Spanoulis that was held in check by Panathinaikos in the 2013 Greek finals 3-0 sweep by Panathinaikos.

-                      FINAL FOUR MVP - TYRESE RICE -    TROPHY CEREMONY VIDEO

-       DEEPEST SQUAD IN EUROPE COMES UP SHORT AGAIN - TYRESE RICE WINS MVP

1. MACCABI TEL AVIV 98 REAL MADRID 86 OT - The 2014 Euroleague season for the DEEPEST squad in Europe, Spanish ACB club Real Madrid, ended the same way the 2013 Euroleague season ended, as an early lead versus Olympiacos in the 2013 title game and today an early lead versus Maccabi Tel Aviv, went away, with PG's Vassilis Spanoulis and Tyrese Rice taking over the title games late, to give the Greek squad the 2013 title and today the Israeli squad won their first title since the 2003-04 and 2004-05 back to back Euroleague championship teams.   American PG from Boston College, Tyrese Rice was named the MVP of the Final Four, as he led Maccabi Tel Aviv with 26 points in 29 minutes, on 7-17 FG, 3-4(3PT) and a perfect 9-9 from the FT stripe.   The road for Tyrese Rice to a Euroleague title, saw him not get drafted in the 2009 NBA draft and he has played with Panionios in Greece, Artland Dragons in Germany, Lietuvos Rytas in Lithuania and Bayern Muenchen in Germany, before joining Maccabi Tel Aviv and after his performance in the Euroleague Final Four, he will be treated like a KING by the YELLOW Maccabi Tel Aviv fans, for the rest of his life, for helping lead them to their first title since the Anthony Parker and Sarunas Jasikevicius led Maccabi Tel Aviv title clubs.   Tyrese Rice was followed in scoring by another American PG Ricky Hickman from UNC-Greensboro, who became an All-Euoleague Second Team selection this year and played in Romania and Finland, before the BIG EURO STAGE of the Final Four and he added 18 points, while Devin Smith had 15 points, David Blu 14 points, Alex Tyus 12 points, 11 rebounds and Sofoklis Schortsanitis 9 points in the OT win.

Real Madrid showed their depth and power in the Final Four Semis versus FC Barcelona winning 100-62, as they made 14-29 from DEEP 3 point land, but today the Spanish ACB club was 11-34 from long range and GLUE-GUY Spanish combo-guard Sergio Llull looked more like Ricky Rubio from the deep 3 point stripe, rather than the clutch player that showed up versus back to back champs Olympiacos in game 5 playoffs and the MVP level of play he has showed all season in the DEEP Spanish ACB league.   Sergio Llull was 0-6 from 3 point land today and 0-7 on FG's, to go along with his 8 assists and just one turnover, but ZERO points in the biggest game of the year, was not expected by EUROJOHNBBALL, who picked Real Madrid in the Sunday final, but Maccabi Tel Aviv made the plays down the stretch for the title.    Real Madrid was led by Spanish PG Sergio Rodriguez with 21 points in 21 minutes, on 6-14 FG, 5-10(3PT), 4-4 FT, but just two assists and was followed by Spanish SF Rudy Fernandez with 15 points, 8 rebounds, while Montenegrin-Spanish PF Nikola Mirotic had 12 points, 7 rebounds, Spanish PF-Center Felipe Reyes had 12 points, 6 rebounds and Greek Center Ioannis Bourousis had 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocked shots, but it was not enough as Maccabi Tel Aviv and Tyrese Rice are champions of Europe for the 2014 season.

EUROJOHNBBALL wrote that after his big game versus Olympiacos in game 5 of their playoff matchup, Sergio Llull had a chance to be considered the new best guard NOT PLAYING in the NBA, but he and the DEEPEST squad in Europe would have to DELIVER in the Final Four, for fans to remember that game 5 matchup versus Greek PG Vassilis Spanoulis and in the end Tyrese Rice put on a Vassilis Spanoulis type of show at the Final Four to win the 2014 title, so even at soon to be 32 years of age EUROJOHNBBALL still has to give the best player not in the NBA pick to Vassilis Spanoulis, for his previous MVP's at Final Four events and helping push a deeper Real Madrid squad to a game 5.  Sergio Llull had his shot to be that best guard not in NBA, but the 0-7 FG, 8 assist game was the wrong game to have an OFF NIGHT.

-  FC BARCELONA WIN THE 3RD PLACE - J.C NAVARRO 20 PT ON 8-11 FG 3-5(3PT) 1-1 FT

2. FC BARCELONA 93 CSKA MOSCOW 78 - Juan Carlos Navarro (20 PT) Sasha Kaun (13 PT)
