-    DEEPEST SQUAD IN EUROPE REAL MADRID WIN BY 38 PTS MAKING 14-29 DEEP SHOTS

1. REAL MADRID 100 FC BARCELONA 62 - It was just six days ago that FC Barcelona beat Real Madrid in Spanish ACB league play 86-75, with Alejandro Abrines and Kostas Papanikolaou combining for 38 points in the win, but today in the Euroleague Final Four Semis, it was the deepest squad in Europe Real Madrid, that advanced to the Sunday Final versus Maccabi Tel Aviv, as they hit on 14-29 from 3 point land, compared to just 5-18 for rival Spanish squad FC Barcelona.  Real Madrid held Alex Abrines to 2 points, on 1-6 FG, 0-2 from long range, after his 20 points in 17 minute outburst, just 6 days ago and Kostas Papanikolaou was held to 6 points, on 2-4 FG, 1-2(3PT), 1-3 FT, 5 rebounds after his 18 point 12 rebound game in the ACB league win and new 2014 regular season Euroleague MVP, soon to be 28 year old Spanish PG Sergio Rodriguez led the way with 21 points for Real Madrid in 20 minutes, on 5-8 FG, 4-5(3PT), 7-7 FT, 6 assists.   Rodriguez was followed by Chicago Bulls NBA first-round pick, Montenegrin-Spanish PF Nikola Mirotic with 19 points, on 6-8 FG, 2-4(3PT), 5-6 FT, while Spanish SF Rudy Fernandez added 12 points and Spanish GLUE-GUY type players PF Felipe Reyes and Combo-guard Sergio Lllull added 11 points apiece in the win.   FC Barcelona was led by Euroleague First team Center, Croatian Ante Tomic with 16 points, 8 rebounds, on 6-8 FG, 4-9 FT.

Real Madrid move to the Sunday Final to play Maccabi Tel Aviv and EUROJOHNBBALL said that the DEEPEST squad in Europe, that could beat MANY NBA TEAMS, would have to DELIVER in the Final Four after losing to Olympiacos in the 2013 Sunday final, for this season to be a success and after a 38 point win in the Semis, they would have to be the favorite over a tough Maccabi Tel Aviv squad, but the Real Madrid depth should help them win the Euroleague title on Sunday.

-      MACCABI TEL AVIV WIN STEALING A TITLE SHOT AWAY FROM CSKA MOSCOW

2. MACCABI TEL AVIV 68 CSKA MOSCOW 67 - The power from Russia started this Euroleague season very well by beating NBA squad Minnesota Twolves in preseason play and almost defeating the San Antonio Spurs, as just like Real Madrid and some other Euroleague deeper squads, they could beat many DRAFT LOTTERY TANKING NBA SQUADS, but today the Russian power gave away a shot at the Sunday Final, looking like almost a REPLAY OF THE SO CALLED BEST NBA PG CHRIS PAUL COLLAPSE versus the OKC Thunder in NBA game five playoff loss.   CSKA Moscow was up 55-40 and 60-51 with five minutes left in the game versus Maccabi TA, but Tyrese Rice and David Blu came up huge at the end of the game, with Blu hiiting a 3 pointer to make it a 67-66, one point deficit and then David Blu stole the ball and found Tyrese Rice for the layup and a one point win.    American-Israeli SG David Blu led Maccabi TA with 15 points, on 5-11 FG, 5-9(3PT) and was followed by American PG Tyrese Rice with 13 points on 5-10 FG, 0-1(3PT), 3-4 FT, while American PF Alex Tyus and American SG Ricky Hickman added 10 points apiece in the dramatic win for the Israeli fans.   CSKA Moscow was led by Russian Center Sasha Kaun with 14 points, on 6-7 FG, 2-2 FT and was followed by former Euroleague regular season MVP PG Milos Teodosic with 12 points, on 4-9 FG, but just 1-5 from 3 point land, 3-3 FT.  Teodosic started the season with a big 26 point game versus NBA club Twolves in a CSKA win, but would take that win back for a shot at the Sunday final for a Euroleague championship.

-  FULL GAME - FC BARCELONA 86 REAL MADRID 75 - 1st QT - 2nd QT - 3rd QT - 4th QT

-       FC BARCELONA GO TO 25-7 BEATING TOP TEAM REAL MADRID WHO DROP TO 30-2

1. FC BARCELONA 86 REAL MADRID 75 - Two of the deepest squads and powers in European basketball played today in Spanish ACB league play and FC Barcelona grabbed the 11 point win, over last years runner-up in the 2013 Euroleague title chase and last years Spanish ACB league champion Real Madrid.  The two squads will compete on Friday May 16th in Milan, Italy in the Euroleague 2014 Final Four Semis and FC Barcelona might have sent a message that they are more than capable of ending the Euroleague title hopes of Real Madrid, if First-Team 2014 All-Euroleague SF Rudy Fernandez does not bring his top A game, as today versus FC Barcelona, two top NBA 2nd round European player picks,  Back to Back Euroleague champion with Olympiacos, Greek SF Kostas Papanikolaou and Spanish SG Alejandro Abrines did a good job of holding Rudy Fernandez to 0-7 FG, 0-4(3PT), 4-6 FT for just 4 points and helped FRUSTRATE RUDY and get him tossed by the refs, while Abrines and Papanikolou combined for 38 points in the FC Barcelona win.   Abrines led the way for FC Barcelona with 20 points in just 17 minutes, making 7-8 FG, 4-5(3PT), 2-2 FT and Papanikolaou followed with one of his former Olympiacos type of games, scoring 18 points, grabbing 12 rebounds and 4 steals in 32 minutes, on 8-12 FG, 1-2(3PT), 1-2 FT, while Euroleague First-Team Center, Croatian Ante Tomic added 12 points, 8 rebounds, while American PG Jacob Pullen scored 10 points in the win.

EUROJOHNBBALL thought that Real Madrid was the deepest squad in Europe all year and infact could do well versus MANY NBA SQUADS and the guy that has been the MVP of the DEEP Spanish ACB league, all season has been Spanish combo-guard Sergio Llull, who came up LARGE in Euroleague Playoffs Game 5 versus Olympicos with 20 points, on 7-12 FG, 4-6(3PT), 2-2 FT, 4 assists and ZERO turnovers, but for some reason, he was not voted to the  2014 All-Euroleague First or Second teams this year.  Rudy Fernandez and Sergio Rodriguez made the First team, but the guy that has led the way in ACB play and came up the biggest in game 5 is Sergio Llull and with the up and down play that Rudy Fernandez shows up with, BIG numbers and DUNKS one game, 4 points another, it will have to be the GLUE-GUY from the backcourt spot, Sergio Llull that will have to play big again, for Real Madrid to win on Friday and advance to the Euroleague Sunday Final, versus CSKA Moscow or Maccabi Tel Aviv.   All-Euroleague, Second team PF Nikola Mirotic led Real Madrid today with 19 points in 24 minutes, on 7-12 FG, 2-4(3PT), 3-7 FT, 7 rebounds and was followed by the two Sergio's, Llull had 13 points, on 5-10 FG, 3-5(3PT), 2-2 FT and Rodriguez also added 13 points, on 5-14 FG, 0-3(3PT), 3-4 FT, 6 assists.     FC Barcelona made 9-29 from 3 point land, while Real Madrid only made 6-23 and must hit better from deep to win on Friday.  This was the best games of the year for Alejandro Abrines and Kostas Papanikolou and giving a deadly 3 point shooter like Abrines and a Back to Back Euroleague champion like Papanikolaou, CONFIDENCE going into the Friday Semis, will put more pressure on the DEEPEST squad in Europe, Real Madrid to DELIVER in the biggest stage of European Pro BBALL.
