CARLOS ARROYO LOOKING FOR HIS SECOND STRAIGHT TURKISH TBL LEAGUE TITLE - TBL RESULTS ROUND 23 MARCH 25th PDF Print E-mail

NBA 27th - BULLS END MIAMI HEAT 27 GAME WINNING STREAK - LUOL DENG 28 PTS
NBA 26th - NBA MIX - BESIKTAS MIX - ARROYO FULL GM USA - ARROYO MIX VS USA

AFTER LEADING BESIKTAS TO FIRST TBL TITLE IN 35 YEARS LAST SEASON
GALATASARAY    MIAMI MIX   BESIKTAS TBL TITLE   EUROCHALLENGE TITLE     BAREA KEY
FORMER MIAMI HEAT PG IS LOOKING FOR ANOTHER CROWN WITH GALATASARAY

1. Galatasaray 76 Besiktas 72 - Puerto Rican point guard Carlos Arroyo was a starter on the year one, LeBron James  Miami Heat team, but was released late in the season, before joining the Boston Celtics to end the year. Year one of the LeBron James decision, did not end well in the NBA Finals versus Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavs, as another small Puerto Rican PG Jose Barea, as predicted by EUROJOHNBBALL before those NBA Finals, was a major factor in Miami losing that Finals, with his ability to get into the lane against an older Mike Bibby and Mario Chalmers. The release of Carlos Arroyo really came back to bite Miami in that Finals, because with his experience in guarding Jose Barea with the Puerto Rican national team in practice, it might have helped to slow the Mavs attack, and if Miami would have kept Arroyo, the Miami Heat might be going for their 3rd straight NBA title this season.  Carlos Arroyo is not in the NBA anymore, but the Puerto Rican PG, who once put on a show at the 2004 Athens Olympics, versus team USA, looking like the best player on the court that night, has brushed himself off and is trying to win his second straight Turkish TBL league title.  Last season he played with Besiktas after Deron Williams went back to the NBA after the lockout and he led them to the Eurochallenge Cup title and also led Besiktas to their first Turkish TBL title in 35 years. With that TBL title last season, Besiktas played in the Euroleague this season, but tore apart that championship squad, led by Arroyo. The Puerto Rican PG now plays with Turkish squad Galatasaray and Arroyo led them to a 20-3 record against his former Besiktas team, in a four point win, as Arroyo led Galatasaray with 17 points, on 5-11 FG, 3-6(3PT), 4-4 FT and was followed by Milan Mcvan with 12 points, while Boniface Ndong added 11 points in the win. Besiktas fall to 13-10 on the year and were led by Tutku Acik with 15 points.
