-                       EUROLEAGUE FINAL FOUR SEMIFINALS - MAY 16th

-    DEEPEST SQUAD IN EUROPE REAL MADRID WIN BY 38 PTS MAKING 14-29 DEEP SHOTS

1. REAL MADRID 100 FC BARCELONA 62 - It was just six days ago that FC Barcelona beat Real Madrid in Spanish ACB league play 86-75, with Alejandro Abrines and Kostas Papanikolaou combining for 38 points in the win, but today in the Euroleague Final Four Semis, it was the deepest squad in Europe Real Madrid, that advanced to the Sunday Final versus Maccabi Tel Aviv, as they hit on 14-29 from 3 point land, compared to just 5-18 for rival Spanish squad FC Barcelona.  Real Madrid held Alex Abrines to 2 points, on 1-6 FG, 0-2 from long range, after his 20 points in 17 minute outburst, just 6 days ago and Kostas Papanikolaou was held to 6 points, on 2-4 FG, 1-2(3PT), 1-3 FT, 5 rebounds after his 18 point 12 rebound game in the ACB league win and new 2014 regular season Euroleague MVP, soon to be 28 year old Spanish PG Sergio Rodriguez led the way with 21 points for Real Madrid in 20 minutes, on 5-8 FG, 4-5(3PT), 7-7 FT, 6 assists.   Rodriguez was followed by Chicago Bulls NBA first-round pick, Montenegrin-Spanish PF Nikola Mirotic with 19 points, on 6-8 FG, 2-4(3PT), 5-6 FT, while Spanish SF Rudy Fernandez added 12 points and Spanish GLUE-GUY type players PF Felipe Reyes and Combo-guard Sergio Lllull added 11 points apiece in the win.   FC Barcelona was led by Euroleague First team Center, Croatian Ante Tomic with 16 points, 8 rebounds, on 6-8 FG, 4-9 FT.

Real Madrid move to the Sunday Final to play Maccabi Tel Aviv and EUROJOHNBBALL said that the DEEPEST squad in Europe, that could beat MANY NBA TEAMS, would have to DELIVER in the Final Four after losing to Olympiacos in the 2013 Sunday final, for this season to be a success and after a 38 point win in the Semis, they would have to be the favorite over a tough Maccabi Tel Aviv squad, but the Real Madrid depth should help them win the Euroleague title on Sunday.

-      MACCABI TEL AVIV WIN STEALING A TITLE SHOT AWAY FROM CSKA MOSCOW

2. MACCABI TEL AVIV 68 CSKA MOSCOW 67 - The power from Russia started this Euroleague season very well by beating NBA squad Minnesota Twolves in preseason play and almost defeating the San Antonio Spurs, as just like Real Madrid and some other Euroleague deeper squads, they could beat many DRAFT LOTTERY TANKING NBA SQUADS, but today the Russian power gave away a shot at the Sunday Final, looking like almost a REPLAY OF THE SO CALLED BEST NBA PG CHRIS PAUL COLLAPSE versus the OKC Thunder in NBA game five playoff loss.   CSKA Moscow was up 55-40 and 60-51 with five minutes left in the game versus Maccabi TA, but Tyrese Rice and David Blu came up huge at the end of the game, with Blu hiiting a 3 pointer to make it a 67-66, one point deficit and then David Blu stole the ball and found Tyrese Rice for the layup and a one point win.    American-Israeli SG David Blu led Maccabi TA with 15 points, on 5-11 FG, 5-9(3PT) and was followed by American PG Tyrese Rice with 13 points on 5-10 FG, 0-1(3PT), 3-4 FT, while American PF Alex Tyus and American SG Ricky Hickman added 10 points apiece in the dramatic win for the Israeli fans.   CSKA Moscow was led by Russian Center Sasha Kaun with 14 points, on 6-7 FG, 2-2 FT and was followed by former Euroleague regular season MVP PG Milos Teodosic with 12 points, on 4-9 FG, but just 1-5 from 3 point land, 3-3 FT.  Teodosic started the season with a big 26 point game versus NBA club Twolves in a CSKA win, but would take that win back for a shot at the Sunday final for a Euroleague championship.

-                       EUROLEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME 2014  -  TOP 5 PLAYS

-                      FINAL FOUR MVP - TYRESE RICE -    TROPHY CEREMONY VIDEO

-       DEEPEST SQUAD IN EUROPE COMES UP SHORT AGAIN - TYRESE RICE WINS MVP

1. MACCABI TEL AVIV 98 REAL MADRID 86 OT - The 2014 Euroleague season for the DEEPEST squad in Europe, Spanish ACB club Real Madrid, ended the same way the 2013 Euroleague season ended, as an early lead versus Olympiacos in the 2013 title game and today an early lead versus Maccabi Tel Aviv, went away, with PG's Vassilis Spanoulis and Tyrese Rice taking over the title games late, to give the Greek squad the 2013 title and today the Israeli squad won their first title since the 2003-04 and 2004-05 back to back Euroleague championship teams.   American PG from Boston College, Tyrese Rice was named the MVP of the Final Four, as he led Maccabi Tel Aviv with 26 points in 29 minutes, on 7-17 FG, 3-4(3PT) and a perfect 9-9 from the FT stripe.   The road for Tyrese Rice to a Euroleague title, saw him not get drafted in the 2009 NBA draft and he has played with Panionios in Greece, Artland Dragons in Germany, Lietuvos Rytas in Lithuania and Bayern Muenchen in Germany, before joining Maccabi Tel Aviv and after his performance in the Euroleague Final Four, he will be treated like a KING by the YELLOW Maccabi Tel Aviv fans, for the rest of his life, for helping lead them to their first title since the Anthony Parker and Sarunas Jasikevicius led Maccabi Tel Aviv title clubs.   Tyrese Rice was followed in scoring by another American PG Ricky Hickman from UNC-Greensboro, who became an All-Euoleague Second Team selection this year and played in Romania and Finland, before the BIG EURO STAGE of the Final Four and he added 18 points, while Devin Smith had 15 points, David Blu 14 points, Alex Tyus 12 points, 11 rebounds and Sofoklis Schortsanitis 9 points in the OT win.

Real Madrid showed their depth and power in the Final Four Semis versus FC Barcelona winning 100-62, as they made 14-29 from DEEP 3 point land, but today the Spanish ACB club was 11-34 from long range and GLUE-GUY Spanish combo-guard Sergio Llull looked more like Ricky Rubio from the deep 3 point stripe, rather than the clutch player that showed up versus back to back champs Olympiacos in game 5 playoffs and the MVP level of play he has showed all season in the DEEP Spanish ACB league.   Sergio Llull was 0-6 from 3 point land today and 0-7 on FG's, to go along with his 8 assists and just one turnover, but ZERO points in the biggest game of the year, was not expected by EUROJOHNBBALL, who picked Real Madrid in the Sunday final, but Maccabi Tel Aviv made the plays down the stretch for the title.    Real Madrid was led by Spanish PG Sergio Rodriguez with 21 points in 21 minutes, on 6-14 FG, 5-10(3PT), 4-4 FT, but just two assists and was followed by Spanish SF Rudy Fernandez with 15 points, 8 rebounds, while Montenegrin-Spanish PF Nikola Mirotic had 12 points, 7 rebounds, Spanish PF-Center Felipe Reyes had 12 points, 6 rebounds and Greek Center Ioannis Bourousis had 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocked shots, but it was not enough as Maccabi Tel Aviv and Tyrese Rice are champions of Europe for the 2014 season.

EUROJOHNBBALL wrote that after his big game versus Olympiacos in game 5 of their playoff matchup, Sergio Llull had a chance to be considered the new best guard NOT PLAYING in the NBA, but he and the DEEPEST squad in Europe would have to DELIVER in the Final Four, for fans to remember that game 5 matchup versus Greek PG Vassilis Spanoulis and in the end Tyrese Rice put on a Vassilis Spanoulis type of show at the Final Four to win the 2014 title, so even at soon to be 32 years of age EUROJOHNBBALL still has to give the best player not in the NBA pick to Vassilis Spanoulis, for his previous MVP's at Final Four events and helping push a deeper Real Madrid squad to a game 5.  Sergio Llull had his shot to be that best guard not in NBA, but the 0-7 FG, 8 assist game was the wrong game to have an OFF NIGHT.

-  FC BARCELONA WIN THE 3RD PLACE - J.C NAVARRO 20 PT ON 8-11 FG 3-5(3PT) 1-1 FT

2. FC BARCELONA 93 CSKA MOSCOW 78 - Juan Carlos Navarro (20 PT) Sasha Kaun (13 PT)
