NBA RESULTS WITH FORMER EUROPEAN LEAGUE PLAYER TIES - FEB. 1ST PDF Print E-mail
Written by John
Sunday, 02 February 2014 23:31

-           GORAN DRAGIC NOT AN ALL-STAR IS THE NORM FOR EUROLEAGUE STARS

-             NBA FEB. 1ST - TOP 10 PLAYS -  EUROLEAGUE - TOP 16 RD 5 SHOW

-     NICK GALIS 33 PPG CAREER - NOT IN NAISMITH HALL OF FAME IS JUSY CRAZY !!!!

-                                   NBA RESULTS EURO TIES - FEB. 1ST

-       NICK CALATHES STEPS IN AS MEMPHIS PG & GOES FOR 22 PTS AS A STARTER

1. Grizzlies 99 Bucks 90 - With the Memphis Grizzlies being without starting PG Mike Conley, former European league PG Nick Calathes got his shot to shut the doubters up and the former Euroleague and Greek A1 champion with Panathinaikos and Eurocup champion with Lokomotiv delivered in his first start. Nick Calathes went for 22 points in 40 minutes, on 8-12 FG, 4-5(3PT), 2-3 FT, 5 rebounds, 1 steal, 3 assists and ZERO turnovers and Memphis was led by Zach Randolph with 23 points, 10 rebounds, while Spanish national team center Marc Gasol added 19 points, 6 reounds, 2 blocks in the win. Milwaukee was led by PG Brandon Knight with 23 points, 7 assists and was followed by Turkish PF Ersan Ilyasova with 14 points 13 rebounds. EUROJOHNBBALL heard some Grizzlies fans on NBA radio complain that they think the Grizzlies need a backup PG, but those fans never saw Nick Calathes in championship type of settings in loud European arenas. It is just one game versus a bad Bucks team, but from what EUROJOHNBBALL saw in Europe by Nick Calathes, he is more than ready to run an NBA team as a PG and the Grizzlies inside-out style of play with the big men is something Calathes is used to from his Panathinaikos days of looking for Nikola Pekovic, Kostas Tsartsaris and Mike Batiste inside first.

-   GORAN DRAGIC NOT AN ALL-STAR BUT LEADS SUNS TO 29-18 RECORD WITH 25 PTS

2. Suns 105 Bobcats 95 - The CLEAR ALL-STAR SNUB of Slovenian PG Goran Dragic, has come and gone starting with NBA TNT guys SHAQ, Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith, not looking at the major 8 percent difference in FG percentage between Damian Lillard (The choice of the TNT guys & NBA Western conference coaches) 41.7 FG to the efficient John Stockton like Goran Dragic 49.9 FG percentage. After the All-Star SNUB, Dragic led the Suns to a road win in Indiana with 28 points and scored 25 points in the 10 point win over the Bobcats in 27 minutes, on 10-14 FG, 1-2(3PT), 4 assists, as the Dragic FG percentage is now 50.5 and he is now averaging 20.0 points per game for the 29-18 Suns. The Portland Blazers are now 34-13 and in the minds of many NBA media members and Western conference coaches, that must mean the Blazers deserve two players on the All-Star roster, but with LaMarcus Aldridge already on the team, do the young Blazers really need two players on the All-Star team, when the FG percentage of Damian Lillard and Goran Dragic is an 8 PERCENT DIFFERENCE. The major reason why Goran Dragic is not in the All-Star game is the college NCAA VS straight from European league DIFFERENCE, NBA media and NBA coaches relate more to USA born players that played NCAA college ball VS former European league players that did not, just ask Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili about the RESPECT they got early in NBA. It is so bad toward European players in NBA getting RESPECT, that the TNT guys were even thinking of leaving former NBA champion finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki off the team, as Charles Barkley was more upset that DeAndre Jordan of the LA Clippers was not on the team, are you KIDDING ME, yeah he leads the league in rebounding, but he shoots 41 percent at the FT line and has not made a shot other than a LOB DUNK all year, not to mention Nikola Pekovic DESTROYED him TWICE this year inside with 34 and 25 point games. Do the Clippers really deserve three players on the All-Star team, Oh I am sorry, what Western Conference championship games have Chris Paul, Blake Griffin or DeAndre Jordan DOMINATED. I know one playoff game that Goran Dragic took over with the 23 points in the 4th quarter VS the Spurs.

-      MARCIN GORTAT 14 PTS & 14 REBOUNDS HELPS WIZARDS BEAT OKC THUNDER

3. Wizards 96 Thunder 81 - Trevor Ariza (18 PT) Kevin Durant (26 PT)

-                   NBA TOP SCORERS WITH EURO TIES 2013-14 SEASON

1. Dirk Nowitzki -          21.8(PT)32.5(M)48.5(FG)39.2(3PT)91.2(FT)6.2(R)2.9(A)

2. Goran Dragic -         20.0(PT)34.3(M)50.5(FG)39.1(3PT)78.0(FT)6.1(A)1.3(S)

3. Tony Parker -           18.1(PT)31.4(M)50.7(FG)42.0(3PT)79.5(FT)6.3(A)0.6(S)

-                GORAN DRAGIC 23 PTS VS SPURS IN 4TH QT. IN NBA PLAYOFFS

-     GORAN DRAGIC GETS DISRESPECT THAT M. GINOBILI & T. PARKER GOT EARLY

The 2014 NBA All-Star reserves were just announced on TNT and just as EUROJOHNBBALL predicted, the great year that Slovenian PG Goran Dragic was having for the surprising 27-18 Phoenix Suns was not rewarded by the Western Conference coaches, who chose the year that 2013 NBA Rookie of the year Damian Lillard was having with the 33-13 Portland Blazers. EUROJOHNBBALL will get into the stats between the two Western conference PG's, but first the DISRESPECT against former European league players continues, from NBA media, with TNT announcers, SHAQ, Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley, as none of those three had Goran Dragic on the reserves list on the West, but all three chose Damian Lillard and all three TNT announcers kept talking about injured Phoenix Suns PG Eric Bledsoe, like he had Tony Parker type of credentials, saying that they thought Bledsoe would have been the pick over Dragic if he stayed healthy for the Suns. What the TNT announcers were saying on the air in comparing Dragic and Bledsoe is no different than what future Spurs Hall of Fame guards Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker faced from the American based NBA media and the American based coaches in past years. Tony Parker already won an NBA Finals MVP in 2007, but has never been named to the All-NBA First team, rather Chris Paul got the nod last season even though the stats would say otherwise, and the more flashy Chris Paul has never been out of the second round of the NBA playoffs, as again his team lost to the Mike Conley PG led Memphis Grizzlies, who by the way got destroyed in the next series by Tony Parker in a 4-0 sweep. The same type of disrespect towards Manu Ginobili by NBA media outlets has also been seen, as the 2005 NBA Finals MVP went to the Tim Duncan, who happened to play NCAA college ball and Ginobili came straight to the NBA from the Euroleague and the Italian league, but in the Ginobili case, it was not just the fact that he took over late in the 2005 NBA finals and was snubbed an NBA Finals MVP, but it was the POOR JOB that the NBA media outlets in general did to hype an athletic wing player with take over ability from the top of the key and the AMAZING FACIAL DUNKS on larger players. Ginobili was called code words CLEVER or SMART player by the NBA media outlets and NBA reporters, when infact he was one of the more exciting players in the NBA in the open court, but was not given the PROPER HYPE in pregame videos, rather the NBA chose to hype the FUNDAMENTAL angle of the Spurs and Tim Duncan who the American basketball fans could relate to more from his college days on ESPN.  The same could be said this year with the pick of Damian Lillard who is shooting 41.7 on FG's compared to the 49.9 by Goran Dragic, that is a full 8 percent difference and the other stats are pretty much the same Dragic scoring 19.7 PPG, 6.1 Assists and Lillard 20.6 PPG, 5.6 Assists, not to mention the HELP that Lillard has in the frontcourt with LaMarcus Aldridge and his 24 PPG and 12 Rebounds, if Dragic had an Aldridge to feed the ball to inside, the Slovenian PG would have about 9 to 10 assists per game. Oh by the way the Tony Parker type of STATS that SHAQ, Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley thought Eric Bledsoe had this year before injury were 18.0 PPG, 5.8 Assists and he was shooting 48.6 on FG's, better than Lillard, but not Dragic.  It is not like EUROJOHNBBALL thinks SHAQ and Charles Barkley have a problem with Goran Dragic, but EUROJOHNBBALL  heard Kenny Smith on NBA Radio say that in his early years he was wondering why NBA teams could not find the same type of player in the U.S.A and give a job to a local guy, instead of searching the world for players. Is Kenny Smith holding a grudge from his early NBA day thoughts, JUST WONDERING if that type of thinking is still in the back of his mind or other NBA media people and NBA coaches, when they choose between Damian Lillard and his 41.7 FG Percentage who has Aldridge to team with and Goran Dragic with his John Stockton like 49.9 efficient FG percentage and just 3 point shooters to dish the ball to.  The Choice is easy for EUROJOHNBBALL, just look at the STATS and who is on each team and look at the Games without the anti Euroleague BIAS, CASE CLOSED it should be Goran Dragic look at the STATS & VIDEOS BELOW & UP TOP & SEND THE LINK TO THE TNT GUYS.

-                       2013-14 NBA STATS - DRAGIC, LILLARD & BLEDSOE
